Charles Barkley is a monster when it comes to rebounding! I mean, they didn’t nickname him the round mound of rebound for nothing! His ability to snag rebounds was a rare ability which allowed him to pad his stats, earn extra possessions for his team, and earn more points himself. Sir Charles was a controversial player, playing with extreme intensity and passion, which led to his high amount of technical. But that passion gave him grit and energy to out hustle the rest of the NBA.

Sir Charles Barkley was short for his position at 6'5, but he was able to gather rebounds almost at will due to his technique and his will and effort to retrieve the basketball. But Charles Barkley is regarded as one of the best rebounders to every play the game. He is the shortest player to ever win the NBA rebounding title. One game in 1993, Barkley snagged a whopping 33 rebounds. Barkley went on to have 16 great seasons and even one a gold medal playing with the dream team in 1998. Along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, Barkley is one of only four players in NBA history to have compiled at least 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists.
These are a few other of his accolades

During his college play, Charles led the SEC in rebounding each year that he played.

Rebounds Leader
Charles Barkley would first stars with his fundamental technique. He would get low and spread his arms out to claim his space. He would use his legs, hips, and his butt to knock around defenders like a bowling ball. Floor space is important is important for pulling in rebounds. If you put yourself into the best position to grab a loose ball while also bullying everyone else out of that space, then you are bound to grab the rebound.

Charles Barkley would use his focus locate the basketball in the air. When he secures position, he would then use us peripheral vision to keep laser focus on the ball and estimate where the ball will end up in order to gain his advantage.
Charles Barkley would then explode for the rebound. After securing position with his technique, he would jump with all of his force in order to snag the ball from the air.

Charles Barkley has been on record saying to "forget boxing out, just get the ball!" I translate what he is saying as him saying that you will waste valuable time and effort trying to box out, when you could be focusing his on the basketball and preparing for his explosion toward the ball.
I would still encourage boxing out but I would say to determine the timing of it. Many times you cannot execute a proper boxout and would be in better position to use Barkley's strategy.
Use these strategies to help you attain rebounds and put your team at an advantage.
